Resettlement Administration
The Resettle Administration was a New Deal Agency tasked to relocate struggling urban and rural families into planned federal government communities.
One of these organized government communities, Weedpatch, was depicted in Grapes of Wrath. It was a place where the Joad found some humanity again - and hot running water and flushing toilets. People were kind and took care of each other. It was at Weedpatch that the Joad were able to gain hope again, but unfortunately it didn't guarantee them work.
