Cracker Jack Factory in Chicago

factory.png

The factory located in Chicago helped establish the city as a center for the production of candy. It created jobs for the local townspeople, as well as spread its influence throughout the country for distribution and consumption.

For the Joads, who sat in the middle of potential jobs in their native land of Oklahoma, it proved to be a fallacy that jobs were abundunt for all people residing in the United States. While brands like Cracker Jack popped up and created new factories that needed workers, it is clear that although America liked to play up this job-creating scheme, not all of those in need of work were able to access it.
